Mariazell is a municipality in northern Upper Styria close to the Lower Austrian border.  Numerous sights and beautiful natural spectacles, which invite you to relax, do some sightseeing and simply enjoy, are awaiting you here.

Mariazell is primarily known for its basilica, but also as a place for hiking and skiing, as well as for the traditional Advent Market with the world’s largest Advent wreath.

Here in Mariazell, traditions are of great importance – for example the traditional making of the Advent Wreath, the custom of carol singers who walk around and collect money for projects that help people in need, the traditional maypole, the yearly solstice fire and not to forget: the famous Krampus parade which takes place every year.

Mariazell, which we can luckily and proudly call our home, has something to offer for anyone at any time of the year – the idyllic nature with its beautiful mountains, the basilica, which is incredibly impressive or our snowy winter days are just some of the reasons it is worth a visit.
